It is with much sadness that we inform you that, after 27 years of providing high-quality Vocational Services to the San Francisco Community, Community Vocational Enterprises, Inc. (CVE) will be closing its doors on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. A major portion of our funding was cut and thus we have decided to close our operations and transition our clients to a similar organization in the San Francisco area.
CVE is proud to be leaving a legacy in the San Francisco Department of Public Health’s foundation of developing and providing critically needed vocational services for individuals with disabilities.
As with any change, opportunity is lurking around the corner for all involved. For CVE consumers, this change presents an opportunity to expand their vocational options and choices through other organizations in the San Francisco area. One particular agency, Richmond Area Multi-Services (RAMS), will be absorbing many of our clients and we are certain they will be well-served.
CVE’ers (Staff and Board Members), past and present, take great pride in working with this extraordinary group of individuals; uncovering their inherent skills, supporting growth, and celebrating their successes as they navigate their vocational journeys.
To our Department of Rehabilitation, Community Behavioral Health Services and Office of Economic and Workforce Development colleagues, we are grateful for your input and guidance through the years that you have provided support to our programs and services. To our health, human service, vendors and political colleagues, we welcome and appreciate your thoughts, advice and service through this transition.
As we depart San Francisco County’s vocational services field, we would like to wish RAMS, the Department of Public Health, the Department of Rehabilitation – SF District, the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, Citywide and CAMINAR a bounty of success as they continue to integrate the intimate connection between clinical, vocational, and related health disparity services on behalf of individuals with disabilities.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.
